It would take too long to write about all the things that have changed in the last six months. But since most of the people who read this live in different states, I figure I should update regularly. I guess I'll start with whats been going on lately, which for me, is not much....
Since I said goodbye to my kiddos, BFF-I, and other friends, life has been slow going. Its definitely a relief to be near my family again. My sisters have wasted no time starting to annoy me. :) I've seen my mom a couple of times and its comforting to know my dad is right down the road. I won't be needing Kenny and Aubrey to come rescue me when I get a fork stuck in my tire. *smirk*
And we are staying with my in-laws, Frank and Kaye! Its been wonderful so far. When Aubrey met them she then told me, "They're adorable! I wanna live with them!" Lol. I miss her a lot. But anyway, it is a great place to be. They are always cheerful and funny and easy going. Matt and I have pretty much taken over the second floor as well as the living room in the basement. But that's okay cuz our "roommates" like our new T.V.
My days are filled mostly with updating my resume, applying online, and catching up on my Netflix. I'm really trying to get a job working with kids. Or dogs. I've applied at some retail places and also some daycares and a portrait studio. Yestderday, I put in an application to work as the hot nerd girl at GameStop. So, here's hoping. *fingers crossed*
But in the meantime, Matt started his job at his new Walmart. I've met a few people there and I have to say I like them. Some of them are black, and some of them have tattoos. Its refreshing. :) Before his first day we took a trip to St. Louis' prestigious zoo. I'm not even being sarcastic. Its actually one on the best zoos in the country. And we had a blast. The weather was beautiful and Matt and I strolled hand in hand through the chimps, to the tigers, to the prairie dogs. I had a fantastic time coo-ing and squee-ing at all the cute animals and Matt had just as good of a time snickering at me. But that's okay. He bought me a baby penguin to remember our fun day and I named him Miguel. :)
Yesterday, Frank and Kaye decided to through us a homecoming party and since we came home from Idaho, they decided to make it a Potato Party. Yes, that's just the kind of people they are. Throwing potato parties :) But everyone came and the house was stuffed to the seams and so were our bellies and everyone was loud and laughing and playing games and it was just a blast. Haha! My parents were a bit skeptical when I invited them but they were amazed that you can put bbq pulled pork on a steaming potato.
Needless to say, I've still got enough time on my hands to miss all the things I loved about Idaho. Summers. James and Jewely. Aubrey. The desert. My job. My kiddos. The crazy pictures they drew me. Adventures in Idaho Falls......But I try to keep myself busy with little projects. I try really hard to clean up after us, so I clean a little each day. I like to make dinner for Frank and Kaye. They have no problem testing out my recipes. I'm relearning how to drive here. I'm getting re-acquainted with Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman. I've painted my toenails four times and learned how to french braid my own hair. And every once in a while I subconsciously cross my fingers hoping I'll find a job soon. But in the meantime, I really can't complain about how peaceful life has been so far.
